In my last post I mentioned that in the past we had some sweet pit passes. Well I thought I would share just what I meant by that. In the past a friend of mine had a friend who was pretty well connected to Champ Car, and the friends of this friend enjoyed the benefits, as you can see. Due to a change in proffesional dynamics we, as a group were unable to accept such generosity this year. Such is life. And the old guy there is Paul Newman, he is part owner of the McDonald's car, who just happened to win that day, as well as this years race too.

This is more like it. I remember these. Too bad about the friend of a friend. By the way, the car failed DEQ...just my luck.
Those are awesome! Hey , thanks for the comment on Spencers blog. I will miss working with you as well. Hopefully this does not mean the end though. I am hoping that we can work together again in the future on some other photographic projects. Please keep in touch.

These are great shots. I'm always amazed at how fast those guys can change tires and get the car back in the race.
I'm headed to your area in a couple weeks. I've never been to Silverton but I'll be in Salem a couple days for a meeting and plan to get out and get some shots of the Oregon Gardens.
Great photojournalism and you have conveyed the energy and excitment of the race.
