Christmas Eve in black and white

A couple of shots from the same walk, only in black and white.

Christmas Eve in the Orchard

My family and i spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day out at the farm. Took the dogs for a walk Monday afternoon and the sun came out for a while, and lit the trees up quite nicely I thought.

Just wanted to update, but haven't shot much but sports lately. Jumped in the wayback machine and came across this pic of Booger, that was the cats name, and he earned that name. Booger is no longer with us in body, but will always be with us in spirit. Word of advice, don't go poking the boogity if you don't have too.

Kids at the beach

T-day at the beach was great. The weather was super. Often the coast is fogged in and cloudy, but for the couple of days we were there it was really nice, a little cool but sunny. The kids love waiting for the wave to come up and then run away.....I could watch them do this all day.

Happy Thanksgiving

Did something different for T-day this year. While we had all the classic Thanksgiving fare, we took it on the road. My family and the in-laws went camping on the Oregon Coast. Grandma got everything ready ahead of time, except the spuds, and we had a great meal.

Cherry tree leaf

I hate it when it seems I have so many things to do, that I can't seem to get a single thing done.

sunny fall day

Again too long between post, sorry, just so busy. I snapped these on 10-22, a beautiful fall day, and after all the rain and gray we've had prior to this it seemed all the more beautiful. I was in kind of a rush this day, but in sort of a mood too, looking for something different, so I put some plastic wrap around my lens and smeared it with vasoline, I love this effect, especially on a sunny day. Also on the 30D you can customize picture styles, so I adjusted the sharpness and contrast and color saturation way down so as to emmulate the dreamy softness of the holga, these are what I came up with.

Elk Lake

Some shots from a Sunday ride. E and I braved the rain and took drive to Elk Lake, and man did it rain. You can see the drops in the pic of the lake. Even with the weather it was great to get out and take some shots, it's been really busy this month, as the lack of posts can attest.

Went camping over Labor Day weekend. Spent the weekend at
Suttle Lake in Central Oregon. Just about 3 miles away a pretty good sized wildfire was burning. The effect on us wasn't too great, although in the morning the smoke settled down over the lake and you could smell it. It did give the sky an erie look at times, depending on the direction of the wind. We were pretty lucky, the fire didn't threaten us, but down the road at the Black Butte Resort the folks over there had to evacuate.

fade away

These are from Eric and Tami's wedding day. They wanted to take a couple of shots down at the the end of the orchard in the last of the evening light. I made it, they had to do something like sign the paper work to make their wedding legal....details, details.......Anyway a couple more shots from the wedding and from the orchard.

More wedding pics

A couple more images from Eric and Tami's wedding, some of the more abstract shots I've worked up.

My brother in-law Eric...AKA..."E" got married this past weekend out at the family farm. My in-laws did a fantastic job getting the place gussied up, it looked so nice. The shot of Eric and Tami walking on the path was taken by Melinda Andrews, who was kind enough to assist me, good job Melinda.

Good Luck Eric and Tami!

More Masonic

A couple more from my roadside wander the other night. Color version of one, and these show off the evening light a little more too.
