Cowboys and Vampires

A couple lifetimes back my friends Clark and Kathleen asked me to shoot some promo shots for their book Cowboy and the Vampire, a pretty good read, and way ahead of the curve as far the Vampire genre is concerned. A decade later the book is being rereleased. Also reappearing after a decade are some of the pics we took back then....pre-digital, pre-photoshop....well Clark and Kathleen updated their book so I thought I would update the image. Check out their blog, and buy the book, it's a great read, not to mention Tucker would chew up and spit out those Twighlight sissies....http://cowboyandvampire.com/

The Old Pear Tree

Shot these a little while ago. Can't ever remember the old pear ever turning red like this. It's been a beautiful fall.

Stormy Day

Couple of shot of the Oregon Coast from a quick day trip I made with Theo's cross country team over Labor Day weekend. Great day, windy, stormy, heavy surf, great kind of day to be on the beach.

Spent a couple of days in Montana, good times with the family. First time we've all be together in a while. Maybe the first time we've managed a pic with all the grand kids.

New Pup

Meet doggy #3. An Australian Shepherd. Wasn't real excited at the idea of another dog, but some kids know how my wife is, and they brought him to her. I guess with these dogs there is a genetic occurance where if 2 dogs with a similar genetic marker are bred there is a chance of blindness....well old Luke here was born blind. The sad story is if he wasn't adopted soon he was going to be put to sleep, like I said the kids know my wife. I was setting myself up to not liking the bugger, but as soon as I saw him I turned to mush. He's just like any other puppy, except he runs in to walls and furniture alot.

End of the Road

Had to go to Lincoln city Saturday for a shoot. Afterwards my buddy Roland and I went down to the beach for a little while. Was a nice day, really nice, didn't feel like January, was close to 60 and not much wind at all. Only spent about half an hour there, but it was time well spent.

Winter Sunset

I miss the snow. I know alot of people are sick of it, and with good reason, but it's a fairly rare thing around here, especially any large amount that stick around. It's just nice when it happens.

Gallon House Bridge

Took these on my way home Thursday afternoon. The Gallon House bridge is just outside of Silverton, and even though I drive by it, and even over it on occassion, it's not one of my favorite subjects to shoot. What actually made me stop was the tree and sun and the road-I'm a sucker for any shot I can work a road into. The other 2 pics were after thoughts.

Fall Colors

The colors have been really nice this year, but I haven't been very good about shooting much of it. On my way home from Eugene on Saturday I stopped along these tracks. Really wanted to get down on the tracks, but the black berries and a big ditch kept me out of it.
