Twice

After I looked at last weeks post I see that I post the same pic twice, sorry. This is the other waterfall I meant to post. The water was/is running very low, but in the case of this waterfall, I think I like it. It definitly allowed more access to the creek bed and some different takes on the waterfall itself. Most times a person can't get out in the middle of the stram bed like this.

Silver Falls

Beautiful Sunday morning. E and I took a little ride up to Silver Falls State Park. Perfect day, and the colors are at their peak.
Didn't have time to hike The Trail of Ten Falls, only made three today. Upper North Falls, Upper and Lower South. Great day.

Griz FB

This was a big play from the UM vs PSU game. After scoring a saftey and a returning the ensuing kick off for a touchdown PSU had built up quite a swing in momentum. Here UM qb Josh Swogger scrables for 43 yards and a huge first down also putting Montana in field goal range. I like the little extra shot Swogger gives the tackler at the end of the run.

Football

Great weekend of football. Shot a local high school game on Friday night. On Saturday I shot my son's 5th&6th grade team and after that went to see the University of Montana play Portland State U. A big match-up in the Big Sky Conference, might be early to call it a conference championship, but it was the 2 top teams in the conference. Tough hard hitting game that Montana won-yeah Griz!

Haven't had/made time to make any new photos. So I went fishing thru the archives.

End of Summer

This little sunflower popped up on it's own next to these mail boxes across the street from my house. I've been meaning to shoot some shots of it for a while and was finally moved to do so yesterday. The weather is fixing to change here so I figured I'd better get the shots while it is still sunny and the flower is in good shape.

Susan, please pardon my "borrowing" your backside of the sunflower idea, imitation is indeed a form of flattery in this case =)

I know the detail shot of the mail box doesn't really fit, but I like it and it was part of the moment so I decided to include it.

OUT TO THE FARM

A couple of shots from the orchard, these are hazelnut trees, it's about harvest time. The road shot is Monte Cristo Rd. That's how you get out there

change up

Some deliberately random selections from the archives. These are all old shots, a couple of years anyway, the hook was taken 7 years ago, on film and was one of the first prints I made in my darkroom.

Been shooting so much sports action and weddings, and it's all is starting to feel and look the same, thought I would toss these out for a change of pace.

Here and there

Been pretty busy lately, shot a wedding, went to Montana, been on a short roady with E and after all that photographic opportunity, the best shot came after I shot a soccer game right here in town.

Pictured is the main drag in Whitehall, MT, the tunnel leading to the football field at the University of Montana--GO GRIZ-A couple of shot from a jaunt with Eric last Saturday, you can see the shot that E took while I took this shot of him if you visit his blog. The wedding shot is obvious and the sunset I took just a couple days ago right across the street from the high school here in town.

E--pure rock fury

This is Eric. He's my wifes brother, a good friend, and a pretty good photographer in his right. It's a good day when the 2 of us are able to load our gear in the truck and take off. Maybe it's the ease of the company that has allowed me to shoot the shots of him I have. This is a small sampling of those shots, but I think some of the better shots. This collection here might just be some of the best portraits I've done period. They are spontaneous and in the moment as well as honest and revealing. Please be sure to check his blog.
